ABOUT

Andrea “Ash” Nash-Boynton is the director of Trefoil Academy, which she founded in 2009. Trefoil Academy offers multiple weekend camps throughout the year as well as short-term residence camp during the summer.
Ash obtained her Bachelor of Science from Virginia Tech in 2006, where she majored in Sociology with a concentration in Crime and Deviance. She minored in History, Natural Resource Recreation and Psychology. She then completed her Masters of Science from Virginia Tech in 2007. Her thesis focused on nonviolent communication among juvenile delinquents, and her research centers around communication patterns.
Her areas of interest included aggressive countercultures, deviant behavior, norm assimilation and internalization. Following graduation, she worked as an individual and family counselor for minors who were at risk of being removed from their homes by the state.
Her first book, 101 Strategic Tips for Changing the Culture at Camp, was published in 2018 and may be found in the ACA bookstore.
